The manipulation of the society which would give prestige to priestly class in combination of kings is very well explained. For me it suffered from a lack of engaging prose, and as someone who has difficulty putting inddia a book unfinished it lead in the later sections to me opening it in an attempt to finish rather than engage the subject matter.
